Personas

Personas are at the heart of Ergogen's AI content generation. They allow the AI to adapt its writing style, tone, and personality to match your unique voice and brand identity.

Instead of generic, one-size-fits-all AI content, personas enable you to create content that sounds authentically you—whether that's professional and polished, casual and friendly, or bold and provocative.

What Are Personas?​

A persona is a predefined personality profile that determines how the AI writes content for you. Each persona has a distinct:

  • Writing Style: The way sentences are structured and content is presented
  • Tone: The emotional quality and attitude in the content (friendly, authoritative, edgy, etc.)
  • Vocabulary: Word choices that match the persona's character
  • Content Approach: How topics are addressed and ideas are communicated

Available Personas​

Ergogen offers 6 predefined personas to match different content styles and brand voices:

😊 Casual Friend​

Style: Relaxed, friendly, and relatable
Best For: Personal brands, lifestyle content, community-building

What to Expect: Content that feels like chatting with a good friend. Warm, approachable, and genuine—no pretense, just real talk. Perfect for building authentic connections with your audience.

💼 Professional Expert​

Style: Authoritative, polished, and industry-focused
Best For: B2B content, thought leadership, professional services

What to Expect: Confident, well-researched content that positions you as a trusted expert. Structured, credible, and professional. Ideal for establishing authority in your field.

🔥 Controversial Hot-Take​

Style: Bold, provocative, and opinion-driven
Best For: Engagement-focused content, debate starters, viral posts

What to Expect: Content that challenges conventional thinking and isn't afraid to ruffle feathers. Speaks boldly, backs up opinions, and sparks conversation. Great for standing out and driving engagement.

😈 Edgy & Unfiltered​

Style: Sarcastic, direct, and unapologetically blunt
Best For: Personal brands with attitude, dark humor, straight-talk content

What to Expect: Brutally honest content with a sharp edge. Sarcastic, doesn't sugarcoat anything, and tells it like it is. People either love you or they don't—and you're fine with that.

🚀 Motivational Coach​

Style: Uplifting, inspiring, and supportive
Best For: Personal development, coaching, motivational content

What to Expect: Content that lifts others up, celebrates wins, and helps people believe in themselves. Positive, encouraging, and energizing. Perfect for inspiring and empowering your audience.

📚 Educational Mentor​

Style: Informative, patient, and structured
Best For: Educational content, tutorials, how-to guides

What to Expect: Clear, well-structured content that explains complex topics step by step. Patient, thorough, and accessible. Like the teacher everyone wishes they had.

How Personas Work​

When you select a persona, it influences every aspect of AI content generation:

  1. Content Ideas: Suggested topics align with the persona's style and approach
  2. Writing Style: Sentence structure, word choice, and tone match the persona
  3. Content Structure: How ideas are organized and presented
  4. Engagement Approach: How the content connects with and addresses the audience

The same topic written by different personas will produce distinctly different content—from tone and approach to specific words and phrasing.

Switching Personas​

You can switch between personas at any time to experiment with different voices for different types of content:

  1. From the Navbar: Click on your active persona in the top navigation bar
  2. Select a New Persona: Choose from the dropdown menu
  3. Instant Switch: Your new persona takes effect immediately for all content generation

You can use different personas for different platforms or content types:

  • Professional Expert for LinkedIn thought leadership
  • Casual Friend for Instagram Stories
  • Educational Mentor for tutorial videos
  • Controversial Hot-Take for engagement-focused tweets

Create Your Custom Persona​

You can create a custom persona that perfectly matches your unique voice and brand. Choose from three creation methods:

Best for: Quick setup with existing content

The fastest way to create a persona—just paste 3-10 examples of your writing and let AI analyze your style.

  1. Go to Settings → Persona
  2. Click Create Custom Persona
  3. Name your persona
  4. Choose Clone Style
  5. Paste 3-10 examples of your writing
  6. AI analyzes your voice and creates your persona

Method 2: Basic Questionnaire​

Best for: Traditional approach with clear structure

Answer a 7-step questionnaire about your writing preferences.

  1. Go to Settings → Persona
  2. Click Create Custom Persona
  3. Name your persona
  4. Choose Basic
  5. Complete the questionnaire
  6. Your persona is created

Method 3: Advanced Conversational​

Best for: Interactive experience with natural conversation

Chat with AI that asks questions and adapts to your answers. Supports both text and voice input.

  1. Go to Settings → Persona
  2. Click Create Custom Persona
  3. Name your persona
  4. Choose Advanced
  5. Have a conversation with the AI
  6. Your persona is created

Managing Custom Personas​

Once created, you can:

  • Activate: Switch to any custom persona from Settings
  • Rename: Update the persona name anytime
  • Delete: Remove personas you no longer use

All your custom personas appear in:

  • Settings → Persona tab
  • Navbar dropdown menu for quick switching
